January 25, 2016 Operations Special Statement concerning NRCJTA & Basic Entry Level Law Enforcement #73
Due to the adverse weather and road conditions, the New River Criminal Justice Training Academy will be closed on Monday to allow the opportunity for snow removal on the secondary roads within our service area. The the weather forecast is calling for temperatures in the teens tonight and the possibility of "black ice" and refreezing of most road surfaces will most certainly occur. As such, the Basic Entry Level Law Enforcement #73 will start on Tuesday January 26, 2016 at 08:00 a.m. at the academy. Student will bring PT gear for the physical assessment in the afternoon. The New River Criminal Justice Training Academy is one of the Commonwealth of Virginia’s ten regional academies providing a wide variety of criminal justice programs for local law enforcement officers, jail officers, and communications personnel for its member agencies located in the New River Valley. Established in 1975, the NRCJTA mission is to provide "professionalism through training" to the officers and staffs of its member organizations by providing training opportunities based upon mandated skills requirements and specific identified member agency training needs.
