Pre-Employment Orientation and Information Meeting for Winter/Spring 2017.

The New River Criminal Justice Training Academy will hold its semi-annual Pre-Employment Orientation Meetings on November 7, 2016 at 1:00 p.m.and again on November 14, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. for all those interested in enrolling in any of its Winter/Spring 2017 programs such as Basic Entry Level Law Enforcement or the Basic Entry Level Jail pre-employment program. Anyone interested is asked to call and register with Lisa Sullivan at (540) 674-5846 Ext 100 between 08:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. If the dates don't fit your schedule give us a call and your appointment can be rescheduled. If you are unemployed and meet certain criteria, you can apply for assistance through the Virginia Workforce Center (Unemployment Office) in your locality to see if you qualify for assistance. New River Criminal Justice Training Academy is an approved Training Center for all Vets. We can process your VA benefits based upon your eligibility and the particular Chapter that you file under. Check www.va.gov to complete your Eligibility Certification. NRCJTA does not qualify for student loans, or Pell Grants. These programs are administered through an institution of higher education, such as a college or university. We are now able to process payments using debit or credit cards. The New River Criminal Justice Training Academy is one of the Commonwealth of Virginia’s ten regional academies providing a wide variety of criminal justice programs for local law enforcement officers, jail officers, and communications personnel for its member agencies located in the New River Valley. Established in 1975, the NRCJTA mission is to provide "professionalism through training" to the officers and staffs of its member organizations by providing training opportunities based upon mandated skills requirements and specific identified member agency training needs. The primary objective of the Academy is to assist the professional growth and development of Law Enforcement, Jail, and Dispatcher personnel employed by local jurisdictions in its service area. For over 40 years, the New River Criminal Justice Training Academy has been committed to providing the highest achievable quality of program instruction to its member agencies.
