The New River Criminal Justice Training Academy is one of the Commonwealth of Virginia’s eleven (11) regional academies providing a wide variety of criminal justice programs for local law enforcement officers, jail officers, and communications personnel for its member agencies located in the New River Valley. Established in 1975, the NRCJTA has had a 43 year history of providing "professionalism through training" to the officers and staffs of its member organizations by providing training opportunities based upon mandated skill requirements and specific identified member agency training needs. The primary objective of the Academy is to assist the professional growth and development of all Law Enforcement, Jail, and Dispatcher personnel employed by local jurisdictions in our service area. New River Criminal Justice Training Academy is committed to providing the highest achievable quality of program instruction to its member agencies.
